Ode de Dad

A close-up of some lovely hand lettered "Dad Type" from my Victorian songsheet collection. Below are more ode's and hymns to all the hims we celebrate today. Happy Father's Day, Dads!

The three songsheets immediately above are from Cover Browser. The two below are from the Spellman Collection of Victorian Music Covers at VADS.

  1. This may be like bringing coal to Newcastle, but are you aware of "Perfessor" Bill Edwards' site (intentional misspelling)? He has hundreds of sheet music titles from Ragtime on which he plays note for note, provides historical info on the music and the performer, and even lists the relative cash values of the drop-dead gorgeous sheet music covers of the tunes, which he also displays! http://perfessorbill.com

No, I did not know about Perfessor Bill. Thanks Justin for this archival treasure! I really look forward to exploring much further!

    Sweet!
